Exceptional shortage-occupation regularisation runs through 2026

In force Residency

Article L435-4 creates a temporary exceptional-admission route available through 31 December 2026. An applicant must, among other conditions, have worked at least 12 months during the preceding 24 months in listed shortage work, currently hold a listed job and show three years of uninterrupted residence in France. The prefect retains discretion: meeting those facts does not create an automatic right to a permit.

Who it affects

Undocumented workers currently employed in a listed shortage occupation who meet the work, residence and integration evidence tests.
