What the evidence shows

The UAE’s federal virtual-work visa service requires proof that the applicant works remotely for an entity outside the country and a salary certificate showing US$3,500 (approx. £2,752) a month or the equivalent in another currency. The listed documents also include a passport valid for at least six months and a personal photograph. The status is for overseas remote work, not permission to take ordinary local UAE employment.

Why it matters

The current federal figure is lower than the former US$5,000 (approx. £3,932) threshold still repeated in older summaries of the Dubai programme. Remote workers should use the live ICP service requirements and keep immigration permission separate from local employment, licensing and tax questions.

What this does not prove

• The applicant must prove remote employment outside the United Arab Emirates.
• The salary certificate is one requirement and does not guarantee approval.
• The service does not authorise ordinary employment for a UAE entity.
• Health insurance and residence-issuance requirements may apply at later stages even when the entry-visa page lists a shorter document set.
• Company licensing, tax residence and family sponsorship are separate assessments.
