Post-Graduation Work Permit eligibility can include language and field-of-study tests for applications under the rules introduced from 1 November 2024. Bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral graduates and specified transitional groups are exempt from the field-of-study test; other applicants may need a currently eligible six-digit CIP code. IRCC froze the eligible-field list for 2026. Graduation from a designated institution alone does not guarantee PGWP eligibility.
Graduates of non-degree programmes whose study-permit or PGWP timing makes the field-of-study requirement applicable.
