Labour Law 14/2025 replaces Egypt's previous private-sector labour law

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi signed Labour Law 14/2025 in May 2025, and the new framework has been in effect since October 2025. It modernises private-sector labour rules, including protections for workers and women, regulation of newer forms of work and specialised labour-court procedures. Employers and foreign workers must also continue to comply with work-permit requirements.
