QMAS uses a 12-criterion General Points Test in 2026
In force
Visa & immigration
Current QMAS guidance uses 12 assessment criteria across six aspects under the General Points Test, or a separate Achievement-based Points Test. Applicants do not need a local job offer, but must meet the prerequisites and prevailing passing threshold; meeting the threshold does not guarantee selection. Successful General Points Test applicants normally receive a 36-month initial stay.
Who it affects
Highly skilled or exceptionally accomplished applicants without a Hong Kong job offer.
